It's 12:33 on Friday night Saturday morning if we really want to get technical
and I'm about as happy a bird with a french fry.
Or as a whole entire family of clams. . .
or a dog with ten tails.
It really makes no difference to me.
You see today is a kind of retirement celebration of sorts, from my awesome four year career as a bus driver. Somebody pinch me hard because I never thought this day would come. Somehow miraculously it's the first day of February and the early morning games of Let's-See-How-Many-Layers-This-Pregnant-Girl-Can-Fit-In-Today are over, as are the cold scrapings of frosty school bus windows on dark mornings and my long naps in my car between routes.
My heart is grateful beyond words. Grateful for God's strength when I didn't feel like I could go on. Grateful for His provision through every season of life. And grateful for cute texts from my dad
Happy Retirement day Nicole!! Very exciting not 2 have 2 get up @ the crack of dawn
So here's to celebrating new chapters of life, a Baby Show that's about to hit the road and that big bowl of my favorite mac-n-cheese that I'm about to consume in about 2.537 seconds.
And oh yes, let's not forget awesome self-bus-mirror-photos with cheesy frozen smiles. Because I'll always remember today as the day when 4 degrees below zero couldn't dampen my spirits.
Now I'll drink some Martinelli's to that.

And speaking of awesome self-bus photos. . . I know you wanted this little trip down memory lane with me. You're welcome.
