She was 20. He was 25. They were moshed together with dozens of other people at a summer camp for orphans in China. Standing side-by-side, they had their first picture together with that big group, before walking on the Great Wall. She noticed his big muscles as he hauled an orphan onto his shoulders.
And after 4 years of becoming best friends, 2 mission trips to Mexico, 100’s of hours on the phone, 9 flights to sunny California, 4 summers of camp in China, 1 move to the middle of nowhere in Iowa, 2 adventures in Hong Kong and 1 sparkly diamond ring later … ….
We finally got married on June 4, 2011
And together we will spend and learn and love the rest of our lives together
